I've been eyeing this wakemake palette too. I've been delving more into cool-toned makeup and pink makeup. And ugh, colors in this palette looks so soft and dreamy.

I personally do quite like the brand aesthetics (especially after rebranding) and would have happily bought from them as a CF brand that now doesn’t support financially Kat Von D. Yes, the marketing and whole name attempts are cringeworthy, but I don’t feel like any mainstream brand is particularly interesting either, I’ve just been burnt out by makeup marketing overall. I wish they renamed the brand to something else but I know they didn’t want to throw away products in old packaging (which is fair but im sure they could have done the same with a very different name). I think they just wanted to not lose their more “mainstream” (i.e. not super knowledgeable about makeup) clientèle I haven’t followed much of the beauty news so I didn’t know about Mikayla Nogueira being involved so thank you for that video, it was interesting 💛

As an artist, you must have respect on the artistic material that you are using. That is the fundamental rule for art, be it makeup, digital art, culinary, etc. Meredith has no respect for make up. Slathering foundation on her face for viral purposes, instead of artistic. Imagine if a chef or painter behaves this way with food or paint. We won't be so pleased about their wastage of materials

As a Makeup Artist and Content Creator, this was extremely unprofessional. First of all she should not have been filming a paying client especially without informing her beforehand. I create content for my client page but I only use models. I never film a paying client.
